Abstract: The concept of sustainable leadership has been identified as an important paradigm for organizations striving towards creating sustained value while addressing environment, social, and economic issues. This research paper focuses on the correlation between sustainable leadership and organizational excellence. A structured approach is developed by combining the principles of triple bottom line approach and leadership development. A comprehensive literature review and quantitative assessment involving 378 respondents belonging to higher education institutions have shown that sustainable leadership practices play a significant role in organizational excellence by means of motivating employees and mediating sustainable culture. It has been found out that organizations practicing sustainable leadership enjoy 23.7%, 18.4%, and 15.2% more positive outcomes in terms of employee engagement, stakeholder satisfaction, and environmental performance metrics respectively than organizations using conventional leadership techniques.
